Andres D. Gil, Esq.
Attorney at Law
"One cannot have honor and integrity without courage to stand up for justice"
Following graduation from Law School, Andres began working at the Bronx District Attorney's Office in September of 2006, where he gained valuable trial and litigation experience. Andres tried 12 cases to verdict within his first year at the office and excelled at evaluating cases and negotiating plea dispositions. Andres was promoted ahead of his peers to the Grand Jury Bureau where he evaluated cases and presented felony matters before Bronx Grand Juries. He took on additional responsibilities and was assigned as a Family Court liaison.
In October of 2007, Andres received a commission as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve and attended Judge Advocate School shortly thereafter. At Judge Advocate School, Andres received extensive training in estate planning and administrative law. He was thereafter assigned to a Legal Support Unit and regularly prepared Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and Healthcare Proxies for Soldiers preparing to deploy in support of the Global War against Terrorism. In addition, he became a subject matter expert on USERRA and SCRA rights and responsibilities.
Andres himself deployed to Iraq in 2009 - 2010 where he worked in partnership with the United States Department of State to ensure the rule of law was adhered to with the resettlement of internally displaced persons.
Upon returning to the Bronx District Attorney's Office Andres prosecuted racketeering, organized crime, and governmental misconduct including but not limited to bribery, forgery, larceny, and official misconduct.
Andres continued estate planning in his military capacity and was once again called to deploy overseas. In October 2011 Andres deployed to Afghanistan as a civil affairs team leader. He worked tirelessly to establish the rule of law and facilitate the placement of Attorneys and a Judges in rural districts to peacefully address grievances.
When Andres returned to the Bronx District Attorney's Office he continued to prosecute racketeering, organized crime and governmental misconduct. In 2014, Andres joined the Putnam County District Attorney's Office and was assigned to criminal cases in the Town of Southeast, where he and his family live.
As an Assistant District Attorney in Southeast, Andres prosecuted hundreds of DWI offenses often obtaining pleas dispositions and trying cases when required. Andres had a 100% DWI conviction rate following trial.
In 2016 Andres was called to active military service and deployed overseas for the third time in seven years. Leaving his wife and two young boys, he left to command a civil affairs company deployed to East Africa. His primary mission was to develop the rule of law and civil capacity of Nations in East Africa to combat terrorism.
Upon returning from deployment, Andres decided to start this law practice in the community where he and his wife are raising their two boys. It is very important to give back and support the community that has supported us through our military assignments.
